Charming, careful, conservative, and cultured, they have clawed their way to prominence through systemised oppression, weaponised religion, and service as the mighty diplomatic and military buffer between the barbaric East and civil West - all of which has earned them a special place as pet monarchy of the Pope. Feudalism, imperial oppression, and minority rule has kept their empire strong for centuries against countless adversities, each one in its time has bent to their will (or at least that's what they'll say). Patient, confident, the Austrians head a great war machine that signs treaties with one hand and conducts drills with the other, all in three/four time.
